Very nice staff.
It's all old.

The hotel is walking distance to major sites in Valetta, the capital of Malta. Great view of the Grand harbour from the restaurant and if you book far enough ahead you can get the same view from your room.
Breakfast starts late (7:30) and the chef, who can prepare an English or American Breakfast, arrives around 8. We do not recommend this restaurant for dinner, as there are excellent choices walking distance away.

Apart from pleasant staff it is impossible to say anything positive about this awful hotel
I am in the process of drafting a fully detailed complaint to you and relevant consumer protection groups. The hotel is nothing like what you portray and was of the most basic level I have ever encountered anywhere in the world (we are seasoned travelers and used to booking online!) I will be pursuing a refund.

the view of the hotel was excellent for the firework festival! The stuff was really nice. An the value for money was more than fair.

Location was great: nice view of the waterfront and near the centre of Valletta.
For the price I paid, this hotel was very disappointing: dreadful breakfast, no shampoo in the rooms, general tattiness everywhere. The night porter was rude, though it's not the best job in the world. Place desperately needs refit, looks like it's had no work on it since the 50s. My stay wasn't helped by having only a pokey room on the top floor as the others were booked up. The other rooms may be better but there are cheaper and much better hotels elsewhere, esp. in Sliema, where i went next.

The Staff were very friendly. The room was cleaned daily. The menu was very good showers hot. The rooms with a sea view are worth the small extra charge spectacular.
The Hotel is everthing you need and I suspect in its hey day it was the best. With some refurbishment it could be brought into the top of the range again. That said would I still go there again yes

The view from the restaurant and bar was incredible. The staff was friendly. Good location (within the old city and close to the bus station).
The food in the restaurant was very marginal. If they had had good food, we would have eatten there every night overlooking the harbor and castles. The price reflects the view and location, the rooms were adequate.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, they made us feel more than welcome. The hotel itself has a faded charm that is quite unique. The food was very good. We slept really well as the location was very quiet at night, and the view was to die for!
It could do with a little updating. A few loungers on the sun terrace would be nice for example.

The hotel, expanded over past years from its original premises to incorporate adjacent properties, provides an outstanding location with easy access to historical sites and the rest of this amazing city. The view from our front room balcony was outstanding along with the friendliness of the staff, the 'night-guy' is a real gem. The in-house restuarant provides excellent food from an extensive menu.
This hotel may not be suitable for people with personal mobility issues. Intending vacationers should first contact the hotel to establish suitability. Breakfast is 'continental' but cafes and restuarants abound nearby for those wishing a 'full English',

Friendly and helpful staff and excellent location with views over Grand Harbour of Valetta. Very convenient for centre of Valetta. A building of character.
Bathroom rather basic.

Location and room with harbour view
Building badly in need of refurbishment. Breakfast not good value and often understaffed. Location excellent for young and fit people because ther are a lot of steps in all directions
-
Exellent town centre location. views from terrace
Poor breakfast general decor of hotel needs updating
-
The hotel is located in a central position and the view from the restaurant is charming.
The breakfast is poor, there isn't much to choose, juices are too sweet and they put the milk in a glass pitcher in a place not protected from the sun.

I really enjoyed my stay at the British Hotel. The staff were very friendly & helpful, and the hotel has loads of charm and character. The location is perfect - within a few minutes walk of the centre of Valletta and the bus terminal, from where you can catch a bus to pretty much anywhere else on the island, yet the hotel itself overlooks the harbour. If you can, I would recommend booking a room with a harbour view - the view is absolutely stunning, and I guarantee you'll spend a lot of your time just gazing out of the window! My room was also more spacious than I would expect of a European 2 star hotel.

the view is spectacular.....and even though i have been living in malta for the past 30 years ...waking up to that view was still bearth taking......though the rooms need a coat of paint badly......and refurbishment!!!!!...ahh and maybe widen a bit the bathroom door :)))
